The Islet of
Lobos
With an area of almost five square kilometres, it is one of Fuerteventura's best kept treasures, a real jewel of nature separated from the coast of Fuerteventura by two kilometres of Atlantic Ocean.
El Río, as the piece of sea that separates the two islands and is less than ten metres deep is known, is one of the areas of Fuerteventura with the greatest wealth of underwater life. You can get there on one of the official ferry boats that make the trip to Corralejo several times a day, and it is necessary to request a permit beforehand to visit the islet, as it is, in its entirety, a protected Natural Park inhabited by hundreds of plant and animal species.
